Cincinnati, OH -- Strong wind gusts in excess of 55 mph caused some minor damage to the wooden structure for the Son Of Beast roller coaster, which is still under construction at Paramount's Kings Island.
According to information provided by the park a 50 x 100 foot section of the second hill gave way and collapsed in on itself on Tuesday morning, January 11. The wooden structure was being held in place by a temporary ribbon support system and had been constructed only a day earlier.
Park officials report that the clean up effort has already begun and the damage is considered minor. Officials also confirmed that the damage would not delay the opening of Son Of Beast, which is still on schedule to open in mid-April.
