SeaWorld Orlando to Celebrate Millennium With Countdown

Orlando, FL -- On December 26, the clock starts ticking toward a new Millennium, with SeaWorld's Shamu-llennium Countdown: Dancin' Through The Decades. This week-long family-friendly New Year's celebration will be punctuated nightly with live bands performing the musical hits of the last century.

Dancin' Through The Decades will be a musical celebration fit for the turn of the Millennium. Every evening, bands will play music with appeal for all ages, including timeless hits from the 1920s through 1999. Costumed dancers and stilt walkers will jitterbug and jive, while guests stroll or hip hop between bands found around every corner of the park. SeaWorld guests can plan to tap a foot or shake a leg to tunes from their favorite musical era. Those versed in the hottest dances of the past century, from ragtime to swing to (dare we say?) disco and the Macarena, will have a blast "cutting a rug" and "busting a move" on the dance floors. For those who have short memories, there will be roving dancers to show SeaWorld guests how to "shake their groove thang."

Every evening Dec. 26 - 31 will feature a fabulous finale. "Shamu-llennium Spectacular," a SeaWorld fireworks and laser extravaganza, will light up the park's 17-acre Atlantis Bayside Lagoon. The show will surround SeaWorld guests with multiple layers of visual effects, including lasers, img, fog and visual images. Throughout the show, fireworks will burst high in the sky, synchronized to the show's dramatic soundtrack.

SeaWorld's Shamu-llennium Countdown is part of a month-long special event celebrating the winter holiday season and New Year's Eve. All month long, the holiday revelry becomes contagious with festive street performers, entertaining park guests with such crowd-pleasers as ornament juggling; special shows, including a holiday version of "Pets on Stage" and "Shamu Rocks America;" tropical themed holiday decorations; and even appearances by a southern-style Santa Claus.

All SeaWorld's Shamu-llennium Countdown events, including Dancin' Through The Decades, are included in daily park admission to SeaWorld Orlando.
