Power Outage Temporarily Closes Six Flags Fiesta Texas

San Antonio, TX -- Guests stuck on rides at Six Flags Fiesta Texas had to be evacuated after a park wide power outage Monday.

The power outage occurred at approximately 1:10 p.m. and lasted for about 20 minutes. City officials said that a buzzard landed on a 35,000-volt power line and got caught in the wires causing the power to go out.

Six Flags park employees safely evacuated all of the parks rides and attractions. Guests were walked down stairways and through emergency exits, some were fortunate enough to be able to return to the station to walk off the ride.

A park spokesperson could not confirm how many people had to be evacuated, but did say that all attractions were open at the time of the power outage.
