Labor Day Fireworks at Paramount's Great America

Santa Clara, CA -- The skies over Paramount's Great America will light up for the summer's traditional farewell.

The 12-minute fireworks skyconcert will start at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 2 and will be set to music from Channel 104.9. The show is produced by Fireworks & Stage FX America of Las Vegas and will include more than 1,000 shells.

Holiday festivities will continue the following day, Monday, Sept. 3, when the park hosts live remotes for the 36th annual Jerry Lewis Telethon to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Those remotes will air during local telethon segments on KTVU FOX 2 and KICU Channel 36.

KTVU will run the telethon starting at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2 and continue until 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3 with breaks for regular news programs. KICU will be hosting the telethon during the San Francisco Giants game, which will be carried on KTVU, on Monday.

Guests can make a contribution to the MDA - and save more than $11 on admission – just by visiting the park any day of the Labor Day weekend. Just visit www.pgathrills.com and print a coupon for a $31 general admission ticket, redeemable at any open ticket booth. Five dollars of each admission purchased with the coupon will be donated to MDA.

In addition, the park will host a live Fill the Boot fundraiser with firefighters from Santa Clara and Palo Alto unions. Guests can stuff money into a boot and get a chance to "star" on live TV.

Park guests can also enjoy cruising back through time with classic cars on display throughout the park. The Greased Lightnin' Street Rod Show will feature dozens of cars - from Fords to Chevys to Cadillacs – from before 1970.
