Senior Job Fair April 16 at Six Flags Darien Lake

Darien Center, NY -- Six Flags Darien Lake will hold a Senior Job Fair, April 16, from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m., at Beaver Brothers Restaurant in the theme park. Refreshments will be served. Enter through the Hotel Entrance, off Route 77 in Darien Center. Exit 48A off NYS Thruway and south six miles on Route 77.

As part of its creative and expanded hiring strategies this year, Six Flags Darien Lake's Human Resources Department will hold its Senior Job Fair for the second consecutive year. For more information, media may contact Human Resource Director Eileen Pozda at (716) 599-5116.

A seasonal job at Six Flags Darien Lake not only attracts teenagers and college students, but also seniors who continue to work at the park year after year to make up the park's 2400-member seasonal labor work force. Seniors make up approximately nine percent of the park's total seasonal workforce and they are employed in various departments in the park including everything from housekeeping, to retail, to food service, maintenance and security.

Some seniors say a seasonal job at Six Flags Darien Lake fits into their lifestyle and provides convenience, flexibility, enjoyment and a supplemental income. Esther Ryan from Darien Center, has worked in the Housekeeping Department at Six Flags Darien Lake for 21 years. A resident of Darien Center for 25 years, she said, that she returns to her employment year after year because she likes working at the park. "I enjoy it and have established many friendships here over the years." She also said it's convenient because it's close to her home.
