New York, NY -- For the 4th straight year, Discovery Channel kicks off the summer in good fun with "Thrills, Chills and Spills" a special Memorial Day programming event dedicated to the dreamiest, screamiest roller coasters on Monday, May 29 from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (EDT/PDT).
Viewers can experience the heart-pumping excitement of these coasters throughout the special camerawork that captures the twists, turns, and unexpected plunges of these engineering feats."
The night of fun opens with 'Top 10 Coasters', based on an annual survey taken by the NAPHA. Discovery Channel viewers get to ride all these all-time wood and steel favorites.
Next, 'Scream Parks' offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of the most extreme thrill parks in the world: SFMM in Valencia, CA. Viewers explore area of the park that are inaccessible to the general public.
'Scream Parks' will takes viewers on four of the exciting thrill rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain including, SupermanThe Escape, Viper, Riddler's Revenge, and Goliath.
The evening concludes with 'Extreme Rides 2000' which explores the technology behind some of the world's most innovative, unusual, and record breaking thrill rides.
'Extreme Rides 2000' will feature Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure, Volcano at Paramount's Kings Dominion, Amazing Adventures of Spiderman at Islands of Adventure, Journey To Atlantis at Sea World Orlando, Millennium Force at Cedar Point, Son Of Beast at Paramount's Kings Island and Stealth at Paramount's Great America.
