Cedar Point Red Cross Miniature Golf Challenge

Sandusky, OH -- Ahhh... the rites of passage into summer! You know that summer is right around the corner when you can grab that putter and golf ball and head to the greens at the annual American Red Cross Miniature Golf Challenge at Cedar Point's Challenge Park. For the ninth consecutive year, the popular amusement park/resort will host this fun and friendly competition to raise money for the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross on Wednesday, May 10 from 4-8 p.m.

Located adjacent to Cedar Point, Challenge Park offers guests three exciting ways to spend their day: Challenge Golf with its two 18-hole miniature golf courses; RipCord, a towering Skycoaster thrill ride; and Triple Challenge Racepark, which includes three different go-kart tracks. (RipCord and Triple Challenge Racepark will not be open during this event.)

The tournament will be a four-person, 36-hole scramble with a shotgun start at 4:30 p.m. Teams of four can enter the challenge for $100 or individuals can enter for $25 each. Individuals will be placed on a team. Teams can compete in a skins game for an additional fee of $10 per team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, plus the total score of each team will be randomly combined with a mystery team to compete for additional prizes.

For those who would rather cheer on their favorite team instead of competing, a $5 purchase of three raffle tickets will gain complementary admission to the event. A raffle will be held for the chance to win a Cedar Point getaway package. Valued at more than $500, this prize package includes an overnight stay on Saturday, June 3, in one of the Horizon Suites in Breakers Tower, which includes a Jacuzzi and panoramic views of Lake Erie, and four admission tickets to the amusement park. You need not be present to win.

Businesses and individuals can contribute to the fund-raiser by sponsoring one or more of the holes at Challenge Golf. For a $25 sponsorship fee, the name of the business or individual will be featured on a sign placed at one of the holes.

A snack bar serving food and beverages will be provided. An adult should accompany children under the age of 12.

Sign-up sheets, hole sponsorship information and raffle tickets for the Cedar Point getaway package are available at the American Red Cross office at 300 Central Ave. in Sandusky.
