Worlds Of Fun Ready To Rocket Coaster Fans Backwards

Kansas City, MO -- The final pieces of the "fire orange" track have been erected, completing the third and final loop of the Boomerang, a new multi-million dollar scream machine at Worlds of Fun that will have the Midwest screaming backwards this Saturday.

"This European-designed coaster is regarded among amusement park enthusiasts as one of the most spectacular rides in the history of roller coasters," said Worlds of Fun Vice President and General Manager, Daniel R. Keller. "Boomerang will be the only roller coaster in the Midwest that will propel riders both forwards--and backwards," said Keller.

Located in the African section of the park, the new 12-story, state-of-the-art roller coaster will rocket riders through a disorienting trip of corkscrew turns and upside-down loops only to send them through the same mind-boggling maneuvers again...backwards!

Worlds of Fun will open for its 28th operating season this Saturday, April 8, 2000. Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun make up one of the Midwest's largest entertainment complexes with over 235 acres of rides, shows and attractions.

The Boomerang is ready for to open tomorrow and will premier to the media later this month.
