Liseberg To Launch Intamin Rocket Coaster In 2005

Sweden -- Liseberg Park in Sweden announced plans to build a new roller coaster named Kanonen for the 2005 season. The Intamin designed "rocket coaster" will use a hydraulic motors to launch riders to 47 mph in just three seconds.

"Kanonen is the first attraction of its kind in northern Europe, and Liseberg visitors who brave it are sure to get a real adrenaline kick," said Liseberg CEO Mats Wedin.

The 1,600 foot roller coaster will cost $6.8 million and include a 360-degree heartline roll and several hills with negative G-forces.
