Morey's Piers To Move Historic Goldent Nugget Coaster

Wildwood, NJ -- Morey's Piers is relocating the historic Golden Nugget roller coaster from Hunts Pier to Mariner's Landing for next season. A local coaster-preservation team named Comeback Coasters will renovate the 54-year-old roller coaster.

Built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1959, the Golden Nugget is one of Wildwood's oldest remaining rides. The roller coaster operated from 1960 to 1992 and again from 1996 to 1998, but has been closed ever since.

In 1999 Morey's purchased Hunt's Pier the Cantonoso family where the Golden Nugget resides. The Golden Nugget is the last remaining attraction on the closed pier and of significant historic value to Wildwood.
