New Orleans, LA -- Following its recently completed acquisition of Jazzland Theme Park, Six Flags, Inc. announced today that it will be bringing the world's largest Halloween party, its own signature Fright Fest celebration, to New Orleans. The popular special event takes place at Six Flags parks around the world and, beginning October 5, will be the first official Six Flags product offered to guests of Jazzland Theme Park.
"Six Flags is thrilled to officially be a part of the New Orleans community. And to prove it, we're planning a party for the entire family," said Gary Story, president, Six Flags, Inc. "Six Flags Fright Fest is one of the most popular special events in our company's history. It combines everyone's favorite thrill rides with an amazing Halloween themed experience."
Welcome to a world of hair-raising chills -- Fright Fest at Jazzland Theme Park! Prepare to be scared at the October celebration during which Jazzland will be transformed into an entire haunted theme park with ghouls, ghosts and goblins at every turn!
Guests who dare to visit Jazzland during Fright Fest, will find that the entire park has been transformed into a haunted SCREAM park. There will be no shortage of mad scientists, back-from-the-dead movie stars, mutant aliens and zombies lurking through the park. Visitors can enjoy all their favorite roller coasters and thrill rides - though they might be possessed - in the cool autumn air and see Zambora eerily transform from man to beast right in front of their eyes! Only the brave should visit Frightorium 2 - the scariest, most frightening haunted house in the region.
Special creepy shows are also on tap for the month of October. Festival Hall will host Fright Nights - a high-energy haunted revue, featuring performances of the season's best music. For a howling good time, party with your favorite ghoul during the The VooDoo Block Party in Cajun Country.
Don't forget to bring the little ones to the Haunted Kids' Carnival, which will feature a Trick or Treat Trail, the Hay Maze and Monster Mash - a special show just for kids!
"Fright Fest is more than just a theme park and certainly more than just a haunted house. It's acres and acres of creepy, scary, spooky fun," said Story. "The kind of entertainment you'll find only at a Six Flags theme park -and it's coming to New Orleans."
Fright Fest opens on October 5 and is free with paid admission to the park. Fright Fest hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays in October and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on October Sundays.
