Cedar Point To Build Major New Thrill Ride For 2003 Season

Sandusky, OH -- Cedar Fair announced today plans to build a major new thrill ride at Cedar Point for the 2003 season. Parts for a new roller coaster have begun to arrive at Cedar Point and construction is scheduled to being after Labor Day.

Several Internet sites this past week have posted photos showing pieces of roller coaster track lying around the Mean Streak roller coaster. The track shown in the photos is from ride manufacturer Intamin of Switzerland, the same company that designed the new Xcelerator roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm.

Cedar Fair in a press release said that a formal announcement with further details about the ride will be made by the park at a later date.
