Sandusky, OH -- Guests headed to Cedar Point on the Fourth of July will have more than world-record-breaking roller coasters and action-packed live entertainment to look forward to! At approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, the sky above the historic amusement park/resort will come to life with the brilliant lights and booming sounds of one of the largest fireworks displays in the area. (In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be postponed until Friday, July 5.)
World-renowned Zambelli Internationale, Inc., New Castle, Pa., will produce this year's patriotic salute to America. Zambelli Internationale, Inc. is the oldest and largest American firm in both manufacturing and displaying fireworks with a history that covers 100 years and three generations of the Zambelli family. Following the fireworks display will be the Cedar Point Summer Spectacular, a nighttime laser, light and sound extravaganza presented by FirstEnergy, the official energy supplier of Cedar Point. The Summer Spectacular is shown at 10 p.m. nightly, weather permitting, through Aug. 24. (The Summer Spectacular will be shown at 11 p.m. on the Fourth of July.)
Yet another reason for thrill-seekers to scream with joy is the announcement that Cedar Point, the park voted the "Best Amusement Park in the World" for four consecutive years, will now be open later for even more ride time! Beginning Monday, July 1, the park will be open one hour longer each evening. On Thursday, July 4 and Saturdays, July 6 through Aug. 17, Cedar Point will remain open until midnight; while Sundays through Fridays through Aug. 16, the amusement park will be open until 11 p.m.
