Kings Island, OH -- Craig M. Ross has been named executive vice president and general manager of Paramount's Kings Island. Ross succeeds Tim V. Fisher who has been named executive vice president and general manager of Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara, Calif. Alexander Weber Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Parks, made the announcements.
"Craig brings a great deal of experience and demonstrated leadership ability to Paramount's Kings Island," stated Mr. Weber. "I'm confident he will build on the success of the park's 30-year history and effectively guide future development to maintain its position as the premier family entertainment destination in the Midwest."
Mr. Ross is a veteran of more than 20 years within the Paramount Parks organization and the theme park industry. He started his career in 1975 as a Food & Beverage seasonal employee at Paramount's Kings Dominion near Richmond, Va. He was promoted through a number of food and merchandise positions at the park until he was named vice president of resale for Paramount's Kings Island in 1995. In that role, Mr. Ross was responsible for the food and beverage, merchandise, games and warehousing operations at the park.
In 1999, Mr. Ross transferred to Paramount's Carowinds in Charlotte, N.C. to lead the park's resale effort and to provide additional leadership to the resale area for the entire Paramount Parks organization. In 2000, Mr. Ross was named senior vice president of resale for Paramount Parks and moved to the company's corporate office which is also located in Charlotte.
Mr. Ross has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Paramount's Kings Island is open daily through Aug. 25. The park will also be open Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 and weekends Sept. 28 through Nov. 3. The WaterWorks water park is open daily through Aug. 25 and on Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.
