Bristol, CT -- Park fans and local families should be thrilled to learn that Lake Compounce will be offering a Season Pass for the 2002 season. The new Season Pass allowing guests unlimited visits for one price will replace the Fun Pass, which was good for only ten visits.
The Lake Compounce Season Pass will be $69.95 for the season, but the park is currently offering a limited time $10 discount if you purchase your pass now. The Season Pass is a great entertainment value since it pays for itself in just about two visits.
"Our patrons requested it," said Tom Wages, General Manager of Lake Compounce referring to what led to the decision to offer a Season Pass.
"Frequent visitors to the park, especially those who live nearby, told us that the Fun Pass's ten visits weren't enough," added Wages. "They wanted a Season Pass so they could visit the park more often."
New this year at Lake Compounce is two new games on the Midway. Fast Pitch, a radar-measured baseball game and High Striker, an electronic take-off on the old ring-the-bell with a hammer game.
Also, starting this year the park will offer unlimited free soft drinks with the price of admission. Guests will be able to help them self to as much soda as they can drink at a number of beverage stations being build throughout the park.
"I think everyone is going to be pleased with the free soda stations, and not just because the soda is free. I think people will like the idea that they won't have to wait in food lines when they just want a drink. It's a really good idea," said Jerry Brink, Food Services Manager for Lake Compounce.
Two years ago Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana became the first theme park to offer unlimited free soft drinks with admission. The program was so successful that this year the park will expand it to offer free sunscreen in the water park.
"We know our patrons are always looking for something new each season when they come to "The Lake" and since we are not adding a new ride or major attraction for 2002, we thought the free soda stations would be a nice addition," said Wages.
Lake Compounce opens for the 2002 season on Saturday, May 18. For more information visit www.lakecompounce.com.
