St. Louis, MO -- Six Flags announced that Scooby-Doo! Ghostblasters-The Mystery of the Scary Swamp will open this upcoming season at their St. Louis Park. The new interactive dark ride from Sally Corp. will take guests on a mystery-solving, water adventure, with Hanna Barbera characters, Scooby-Doo and the Mystery, Inc. gang.
Six Flags guests will enter the attraction under a creepy archway and walk through winding, fantastical marshlands littered with warning signs urging them to turn back. Forging ahead, courageous riders will board ghostblaster boats and take a journey with Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Fred through the haunted swamp, creepy castle and other dreaded dwellings.
The boats designed by Sally Corp. will feature Fright Lights, allowing guests to zap targets throughout the ride to rack up ghostblasting points and discover Scooby Snacks. While using their Fright Lights guests will help Scooby-Doo and the gang deliver the true identities of dozens of super-scary villains to the Police Station.
The 5-minute dark ride will feature 25 scenes filled with animatronics, lasers, blacklighting, fog and digital sound effects inside a 32,000 square foot building. Guests will ride in one of twenty-two, four-passenger boats that will travel in a 650-foot long canal.
Some of the unique elements will include spitting gargoyles, falling bookcases, crocodiles with laser-beam eyes, and rushing water geysers. According to the park each ride will have unique sequencing so every ride experience will be different.
Scooby-Doo! Ghostblasters will be manufactured by the Sally Corporation of Jacksonville, Florida and is slated to open in spring 2002.
