Canada's Wonderland To Spend $10 Million On New Attractions

Vaughan, Ontario -- This summer there will be more fun than ever at Paramount Canada's Wonderland with the addition of Psyclone, the park's latest thrill making machine, plus a whole new world of water as Splash Works expands with the addition of 11 new slides, including Barracuda Blaster and Riptide Racer!

"With over $10 million in new attractions and Park enhancements for 2002, Wonderland just keeps getting bigger and better", says Barry Jones, executive vice president and general manager.

Thrill seekers will catch some gravity defying hang time on Psyclone, the most powerful pendulum on the planet! Rocking 120-feet in the air while spinning on a giant, sky teasing disc, Psyclone is located in the Action Zone, a newly renovated section of the Grande World Exposition of 1890.

Then, take the liquid fast track in Splash Works with Barracuda Blaster and Riptide Racer. Double up on Barracuda Blaster, as sliders zip down a high-speed pipe flume, then twist around the vertical banks of a giant whirling bowl of water before being flushed out into the Lazy RiverTM. On Riptide Racer, rival sliders compete for first place as they speed down an enormous eight-lane splashway.

This open-air water slalom has been designed with accelerating rapid drops for maximum speed and splash! Barracuda Blaster and Riptide Racer are located adjacent to an all-new interactive spray ground for families, where kids will find pint-sized water thrills including new slides and a host of water spill, splatter and spray activities.
