How is Bigger in Cincinnati?
With the 2000 baseball season opening up yesterday. I have a question for all my friends in Cincinnati. How is bigger right now Ken Griffrey Jr. or SOB? I know this is a tough one because each have a famous papa dear to Cincinnati locals. Make a choice.

Kevin Reid
Kevin,
If Griffey takes us the the World Series then probably Griffey (ha). Actually, in all honestly Cincy is a great place to be this summer. They (Junior and SOB) will do wonderful things for the economy and emotions of everyone in this city.
SOBecki
Well, I hate to say it, but the Griffey kid is a bit more popular right now. Some of the knuckleheads in Cincy think SOB isn't safe and is going to topple over (like it did a couple months back)! And most of them have only heard of SOB very recently, while the other Jr. has been in the news daily. Although, after Griffey going 0-for-2 yesterday and the game being a wash out, the hype has sort of fizzled out a bit.
Curiously enough, the temp has dropped 20 degrees (F) since then and it has become quite frigid (ala, that certain day at PKI last April). It's actually sleeting right now. I wouldn't want to be playing ball tonight! Coaster riding, well, that's another story!
SOB should be up and running within a couple weeks, so let the battle of the Jrs begin!
Rocket Roger (by the way Kev, I assume that you meant "Who" and not "How". Your dyslexia (or age) is showing!)
To be honest with you, I don't think most people in Cincinnati even know that SOB exists.
I re-read that darn thing. As soon I hit the post bottom I saw the mistake.

Kevin Reid

Not once, but twice I might add. Tee Hee

Personally I could care less about the Reds. I have lived in Dayton (about 50 mile from Cincy) my whole life and I have never like them. I am a die hard Braves fan that thinks SOB is 20 times bigger than Ken Griffy Jr. Go Braves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just happened to be thinking of you guys today, as I drove thru blinding snow and thunderous hail, while at the same time trying to keep the brilliant sun out of my eyes ... reminiscent of another opening day, PKI '99.
