I used to go about once every two years back in the 1980's. I loved the place. Worst injury I've ever had in a park setting occurred there..sprained my shoulder on a vicious primitive mat ride called the Surf Hill. My favorite attraction was the Cannonball slide, which is still there. It's a very short, enclosed dark body slide that drops you at least six feet from the tube into a deep pool of freezing water at the end. All the water's natural. Their Colorado River raft ride is pretty awesome too. I's a place that's definitely been toned down since it re-opened as Mountain Creek.

Only thing that sucks about the park is the water is freezing cold for the cliffs and the the swing and its so much uphill walking. Its a workout just walking around the place.
It does have the best raft ride and tube ride single/double I've ever been on.
they actually make you wear a helmet now on the large tube ride cause you get banged around so much. Lucky we wore them cause you smash heads together alot on that ride.
The looping slide is gone, still will never forget years ago it would always be closed and one day as we were leaving the park after we got dressed we look over and its open. I begged my aunt (RIP) to let me get changed and go on it but we had a 2 hour drive home and she said no. Think that was 1994. Never got to go on that dangerous ass slide.
Also they dont have the old Alpine slide anymore which was awesome.
Its only like 35 bucks for a ticket. Its still by far the best water park.

Here's a nice and very thorough video from youtube (link below) about Action Park; the uploader Defunctland does a very good job concerning defunct attractions and parks.

My kids and I miss him also. It will be a year since he passed away on October 28th. We still talk about our amusement park visits with him on a regular basis.
