Paramount Parks
Paramount has been busy this year building new rides such as Stealth, Son of Beast, and sprucing things up. So for 2001, which park do you think Paramount will give the so called "Royal Treatment" too, by building more thrill rides and making improvements to it's parks?

Well, we have already heard that PGA is building another coaster. But other than that, I think PCW will see the next big project. The last major rollercaoster was installed in 1995 (TOP GUN). Carowinds just got their big top gun coaster. SOB to PKI, and PKD can also use a coaster but they are the only ones with no action zone. Other than PGA since we already know, I think PCW and PKD will get some major improvements.

Lets see,
PKI won't get too much. Maybe a 4 mil Super Saturator.
PGA, We already know they have a 10 mil budget.
PCarowinds has a budget of 7 mil for next year.
This leaves PKD and PCW. One of these parks will get Stealth. My gut tells me that it will be PKD. I really expect Paramount to start big build up at PKD. PCW is the big wild card. Like Carowinds, attendance is up at both parks and there is not much competition in the area. I expect these two parks to be the last in the chain to get a Stealth, (which may not be a bad thing). Carowinds got the first Drop Zone which is also the shortest.
PKD will be the next park to get alot of new rides.
not that i know what they are or where they will be.
yeah. thats the story.......... :-)
Its Canada's Wonderland's 20th Anniversary next year and we haven't recieved a BIG rollercoaster in SIX years.
I think its pretty obvious whose gonna get the royal treatment in 2001.
Take care,
Roxy

My understanding is that PKI will lay low next year (2001) and catch up on some maintainance, having put in major new rides these past two years. And since PGA just got Slealth, TG still fairly new at PCar, and Volcano at PKD year before last, I'd say PCW is certainly due for some major new attraction. Isn't next year it's anniversary or something?

Anniversarys dont mean anything. Look at PKD. We got 2 new rides in Nick Central and they both broke before the park even opened.

It means something when the last coaster was 6 years ago plus there's SFDL will have something big aswell and from what they built last year, Paramount will debut something big for wonderland. It will be wonderlands year, but hopefully PKD will get something good aswell.

Just a hunch but I think that Paramount parks is looking to prove to the world that they are in it for the long run and will continue the trend of adding attractions to each park every year, who will get what that is another question.......My gut tells me tha Wonder Land a nice size woddie. Kings Dominion can we say out with the old in with the new....say bye to "Shock wave" And Hello to a standing B&M. Great America Hello.....Thrust Air 2K. Carowinds is a tuff one I'm think something wood, or a stealth (both would be nice for this park). and last but not least Kings Island look for the area soon (and I mean soon)to be vacated by kins mill log flume along with the former right next nick climbing structure to house a stealth or volcano clone.... but the could go out and surprise us all with a B&M Floorless......What will actually happen we will just have to wait and see.
PCW, marketing deparment, has 2000 as their 20th anniversary but, it is actually their 20th season of operations. So much for math.

We all know PGA will be getting a thrillride for their 25th anniversary. PGA anounced it themselves during the Stealth Media day. So there's the first candidate! The question is what will it be. We know it will be tall and long already. Looking for a great year for 2001! Hopefully there will be improvements overall the entire park.

PGA already anounced that there will be a major new attraction at a cost of approx. $10 million. Also, it's in the park maps just like the maps last year with Stealth stating something new and exciting pointing right next to the skyflyer. Plus, a 172 ft. tall coaster was just approved by the county so you could cross PGA off your list.

This time last year, Stealth was already on the rise. I wonder what clues they will have for us this year. I also think that whole area will be re-done nicely...

Rumor of Stealth in this area of PKI was mentioned here earlier, but not until 2002.
