It really has no need to change, and please let's not jump the gun to the inevitable name change. The park reminds me in ways of a hybrid between Knoebel's and BGW. The entrance is very European, but then the rest of the park features a bunch of wandering paths and lots of trees (albeit paved paths). The storybook influence from the Storytown USA days is still there with the Cinderella's Pumpkin Coach ride and miniature village.

Overall, the park has its attractions well spaced to spread the crowds well. I don't like the layout having dead ends in every direction in GhostTown, Jungleland, and Comet area, but overall, it's a great park with a very unique feel and beautiful location.

Put the Comet in any park and it immediatly lifts its image- this park had a great image before the Comet landed- since '94 it's only gotten better.

The three coasters that have been installed under Premier are all terrible with capacity, but have all contributed to the park's recent surge in popularity amongst upstate NY.

Plus, few rides are as wonderfully intense as the Comet's back seat afterdark- it comes alive like that Bird in Santa Claus, IN.

Well...I suggest you take a little trip there and discover one of the *World Class* Comet. Check out the Hitchhiker's poll... It's in the elite of the woodies, and for a DANG good reason. The rest of the parks growing, but that alone is reason to go. Period. Hope that helps....

Sorry...misread your post...

Don't quite know, but I think it's been growing at an acceptable rate, given the history of the park; they added Crackaxle Canyon last year, no?? And i believe there'll be some substantial efforts the new couple of years in capital improvements.

Since the Premier takeover, 3 coasters were added. In 1997, your average Vekoma Boomerang was added. No line when I went this summer. In 1998, SFGRAm Rolling Thunder was moved to the park and renamed Alpine Bobsled. Most overbraked coaster I have ever seen. Most inefficient operation also with Nightmare ( see why below ).

In 1999, Nightmare came.............. When I heard enclosed, Schwarzkopf and totally dark......... I meant: Yeah! But, its a failure! The line is insanely deceptive. Its looks short, but with only 3 cars of 2 passengers ( instead of 4 like they were designed for ), its moved 5 feet every 10 minutes! The ride itself is good, but "totally dark"? Huh? I could easily see the track! And they spent 4 milliona on that? Come on! Give us an SLC instead of that!

Premier was responsible for modifying Raging River and adding seat belts to Comet.
