That's weird.

I mean, I love coasters, but I can't imagine loving them nearly as much as I do when without the drops. That is the best part in my opinion, that first dig drop (on tall coasters at least, not so much coasters with inversions).

Frankly, I don't know how to help you. I don't get what could be wrong. Why would it hurt your stomach? Hmmn. That's just weird. No other way to say it really.

Well, the only way I can understand it better is if you tell me how you ride, if you understand what I mean, during the drops. Are you too tense or in a bad position during them? Maybe if you let loose it will help more. It may also depend on the coasters you are riding. But I can't really help you, so sorry. I guess I wrote a lot for nothing, but this is a weird situation I've never heard of before.

There really isn't much you can do. Either your body can or can't handle that feeling. Personally I don't get that feeling in my stomach anymore. I guess after riding for so many years my body just got used to the drops.

I understand. All you need is non-drowsy dramamine. I personally take phenagran. But I would not recomend it. I am adapt to taking it, it would make most people tired. And it's a RX so it is harder to get. Just start by taking one about a hour before you start riding. If that doesn't do it you might have to take another. They have both the normal and non-drowsy so be sure you get the non you don't want to be sleepy at a park.

If you "feel like you can't breathe" that sure doesn't sound like you're getting much pleasure out of riding...I only get THAT feeling when the restraint...whether OTSR's, lap bar, or seat belt..is too tight!

Do that, and another thing I found helpful during my first coaster, was to make like your pushing the car down the hill. I don't know why, but it seemed to help. Just don't get so tense also.

Ayride, it almost sounds like you're getting the butterflies in the stomach, which is common on steep drops, or even drops that provide air time when you're not really expecting it. I get it from time to time, but it doesn't bother me.

All you can do is just relax, and scream your head off.

I know exactly whats ur talking bout cuz i feel that same feeling when im on a rollercoaster and it drops which is why im so scared of them. One time i went on a ride and was pressured into it so i went on just to shut my boyfriend up and get him outta my hair. When i went on the ride it wasn't as bad as i thought. When u get on right before u drop 1st thing u have to remember is "it'll be over and it's meant to be fun not scary" keep repeating that to urself everytime i feel ur about to get tense. 2nd thing u need to do is lossen up ur mucscles if u feel tense, 3rd thing is hold the rail tight and pretend ur pushing forward with the ride so u feel more in control as it drops, then lastly 4th thing SCREAM! I found that screaming when u drop helps u remember to breath and u dont feel that feeling in ur stomach as bad as if u were to keep ur mouth shut. Scream like ur holding onto dear life and just have fun with it. Trust me it works.

Actually, I was like you when I first started. I was terrified of them and it used to make me tense up, which made the sensation worse.
Repeated riding generally helps you get used to it. :)

I finally figured out how to get rid of the pain. And to validate my feeling, I also get it when a plane hits air turbulence, when a car drives fast over a steep hill and even when I'm swinging on a swing set. I was 45 when I figured this out after trying everything else that was suggested and nothing worked, I even asked my doctor who said I was just nervous. This is going to sound really weird but for me it makes the pain go away completely! I found this out at a church festival ride. I was on a ride like a fast ferris wheel that spun in a diagonal tilt, since we were just going round and round and I felt the pain every time we dropped I started experimenting by moving my body in different ways each time around, then I made a move that made the pain completely go away, I tilted my head all the way back. It was like a miracle. But I still didn't think it would help on a roller coaster so next time I went with the family I put it to the test and amazingly NO PAIN!!! I think I deserve the Nobel Science Prize for this discovery, haha. I can't promise it will work for you but it sure has made my trips more enjoyable. Since then I've also noticed the more I ride(season pass) the less intense the pain was to the point that I could ride the ride with minimal pain and not feeling the need to throw my head back before every drop, I hope this helps others.

This.

Just scream throughout the ride and you'll be fine, especially on the first drop.

I always wait until the first drop, then I let out a big "YEAH" as I feel gravity taking control. I'm usually fine for the rest of the ride after that.

I have the exact same issue. It is NOT enjoyable. I also have relatives with the same issue and I believe it is related to equilibrium issues. i had a cousin who had
nasal issues and after surgery it seemed to help the drop sensation. Prior to that, he threw up every time.
