ok the corkscrew at cp was the 1st coaster in the world to feature 3 inversions.the viper at sfdl was the 1st coaster to feature 5 inversions.the vortex at pki was the 1st full circuit coaster to feature 6 inversions.the disasembled shockwave at sfgam was the 1st coaster to feature 7 inversions & dragon khan overseas was the 1st coaster to feature 8 inversions.
now here is my question.now generally i have ridden both steel phantom as well as phantom,s revenge at kw.& since the 2nd half of the ride was changed & renamed pr it is considered a new coaster to me.same thing with the 2 turn of the century coasters when 2 loops were added & renamed the demon in 1980 so i consider the 2 demons as 1980 coasters.now there are 4 coasters that
a)opened up in 1980 &
b)feature 4 inversions.

they are carolina cyclone at pcar as well as oe at wof where even though it is coming down now i have ridden it & then the 2 demons at pga & sfgam.

now here is the question.this question is for older coaster riders like chillforce or whoever was already a coaster enthusiast & traveling around to parks when these 4 coasters with 4 inversions opened up in 1980.
my question is that does anybody know the date in 1980 when these 4 opened up or at the very minimum does anyone know which one was the 1st of the 4 to open up to the public.i went to rcdb.all it says is 1980 for these 4 coasters with 4 inversions but doesn,t say the opening dates.i am trying to find out which one of the 4 opened up first.any old coaster enthusiasts like chillforce or others who were allready traveling around to amusement parks in 1980?the reason is because one of these 4 was the 1st one to feature 4 inversions whichever one opened up first.
any one know.i contacted the parks but they didn,t reply to me.anyone know?i am trying to find this out.

From my understanding and research it's Carolina Cyclone. Which opened in March of 1980. Both demons which opened up a month later same with orient express. However it's not exactly set and stone with those dates. Most coasters at that time that opened don't really have the exact dates since no one really archived those events in those times. There are some rumors with eh evidence (that being an accident that happened on the whizzer) that SFGA opened the same demon the same day as CC. If so then technically still Carolina Cyclone wins as even though both parks had the same operating hours at that time. Carowinds is an hour ahead of SFGA. So if it did open at the same time then CC would open at 9est when demon would open at 9CT so an hour later. If so then it's possible that the 4 Inversion record is by far the most intense competition for records ever in the coaster scene
