Problem with RCT:3 Platinum

So, I downloaded this from Steam about a week ago and I've only gotten it to load and play twice (and believe me, I've tried). When ever I try to open it, it gives me an error message from windows saying that RCT3: Platinum has stopped working and the options to either check for a solution to the problem online or to close the program. When I click on the first, nothing happens. Anyone else have anything similar or maybe an idea of what the problem might be?
