RCT 2 dies...

I'm sure this is covered somewhere; I've looked, can't find. I'm brand new to this forum having searched the internet for help.

I've installed RCT 2 (triple pack) and had no problems. I hadn't played in months, literally, and now it has a problem. At random times the whole game freezes, and I hear what can only be described as a drum type noise. "Da da da da". The computer is totally frozen at this point, I have to reboot. I never had this problem before!

XP Pro
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Everthing else on my pc works just fine. I've installed the RCT patches, but they don't help.

Any bright ideas?

Hmmm . Since it worked before okay, and assuming not much has changed with your computer it should work now. You could always try totally removing the game from your computer and reinstalling it in case some files on your computer have become corrupted. By your description of the noises its making it sounds like there is a good possibility that your cd is dirty or damaged. You can try cleaning the disk , or hopefully you have a friend with the cd that will let you try it in your computer or will let you try your cd on their computer.
