Problems with Rollercoaster Tycoon

I have the game roller coaster tycoon gold edition for my computer. My computer in windows XP. The game says that it only works for windows 95/98. But I've played the game on my same computer before. I lost it so I didn't play it for a while, but then I found out that my friend had it and he was playing it on his computer. He also has windows XP. So then I got the game back and tried it on my computer, but now it does not work. I tried un-installing it and then installing it again. And it still does not work. But it still works at my friend's house who also has a windows XP. So if there is anyone who can help me, that would be great. Please e-mail me back as soon as possible. Have the same problem, you can play it, but you cannot load saved games. It really is XP causing this. As far as I know, there's nothing you can do about it.

If you are using the newer version that might pose a problem.

I've posted this a couple times, but here you go! :)

Try this:

1. Right click on the RCT program shortcut
2. Click "Properties"
3. Click the "Compatibility" tab
4. Click on "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 95"

This will allow it to run on Windows XP. It should work for both RCT1 and 2.

I tryed that and have done it successefully before, with other games, but for some reason I cant find that tab, That could be cuz i'm stupid, tired, or somthinghs going on. here is how to load a saved game at rct1, u'll need a patch:
goto http://rctinc.tycoonplanet.com/downloads/downloads.shtml
download the "Official Update Patches For the Original RCT"
it worked for me.

If cant load save games on windows XP and cant install a patch, here is a resolution. Download this two reg files:
http://blackboss.euweb.cz/reg1.reg and
http://blackboss.euweb.cz/reg2.reg

then simply doubleclick add it into registry.

Now you can go in RollerCoaster Tycoon installation directory and in folder Saved Games simply doubleclick on saved park to lad it.
