What did you think of it?

I'm ehh.. Its ok. Better than I thought thru the screen shots. I was afraid it was going to be really cartoony... but only the peeps are that way. The game is beautiful and runs smoothly. I just wish the coaster building wasnt stuck on the "kindergarten" difficultly level ;).

i thought it was alrite! i found the controls (mainly camera) a little difficult (something i guess i need to work on). i definately liked the on-ride camera! I can't wait to just go into sandbox mode and be free to play the way i want!

looks good. Annoyed with the trees though. no more automatic tree removal! Wish i could be able to build a Stratacoaster in the demo. or a Vekoma tilt!

I like the idea that you can still "crash" the coasters, but only by making the trains fly off the tracks. It seems that you can no longer make a coaster crash by making the trains collide, at least on the wooden coaster. I built a wooden coaster, and I made a train valley between the first drop and second hill, and the second train just bounced off the first one when it collided at the bottom of the drop. Depending on my mood, I used to love crashing the rides on RCT 1 and 2!!! Anyway, I can't wait for the full version to be released in November!!!

I enjoyed it very much. I am still trying to decode who to pre-order from since there is a unique coaster depending on where you pre-order from. I am thinking that EB Games will get my money this game.
But I had to agree the auto tree removal not being there was a bit disapointing. It doesn't allow for a quick placement of the coaster. But gamepausing to build is interesting. I kind of enjoyed the challenge of building a custom baddass coaster while the park was open. You had to manage a lot more while building.
But it will be a fun addition and I am sure expansions will be available. Not to mention that the community will be providing custom rides again.

anyone try to make a path? It sucks! I hit the turn button and it won't f'in turn! The terrain editing kinda sucks too. Looks like they spent more time with the peeps then the editing.

I'm still going to get this game. I want to ride my own coasters.

I'm afraid of the lag though. I have an Nvidia Gforce FX 5200 128MB graphics card and an AMD Athlon XP 3000 and it lags a little, I wonder how it will be when I have a huge park!?!

One more thing, I had problems running the demo because it said I didn't have direct X9. But I checked and I do have DirectX9! So I had to uninstall all my drivers and directX and reinstal them. It worked for a little. I wonder if I'll have the same problem with the game. I hope it's just because it's a demo.

i totally agree about the paths... it was absolutely awful. it needs some more work. the buttons just don't seem to work.

Did anyone try to create a tunnel? In the previous versions all you had to do was raise/lower ground to form a "mouth" of the tunnel through which the path/track/tube/whatever could fit through - fantastic for creating interesting themed areas and adding a little bit more excitement to rides.

I played around in RTC3 with the train, both rollercoasters and a path, it didn't like going underground - has anyone else tried?

I think most of the "editors" will be a little wierd at first as they've tried to keep them as similar to the previous RTCs as possible, yet dealing with the move to 3D and a more advanced terrain system.

One thing that did tick me off was the fact that the path editor just "vanished" when there were no more "options" to place - you had to remove the piece you'd added manually and start again (instead of comming back with a "you can't place that there" message like the everything else in the game).

Though the people are hilarious - I clicked some dude by accident and it opened his thoughts; "Laura M is the best" ":o) Lets make out" and they snogged on the spot... I mean, wow... lol. I just can't wait till Kevin pukes over Jimmy who moans to mum who's already ticked off at dad for not packing the brolly and then slaps kevin round the ear for eating too much chocolate on the drive down... Now THAT is a real theme park!
