I grew up on Dunkin Donuts since there are no Krispy Kremes in the area (although they will be opening 11 franchises in my area in a few months), but once I had my first Krispy Kreme a few years ago, I knew there was no contest. Krispy Kreme blows Dunks out of the water. The only thing Dunks has going for it is the coffee, but given the choice between the two, I will always stop at a Krispy Kreme.

What kinda poll is this?
Does the winner of this poll take on the mighty *sarcstic cough* Tim Horton?

I agree Bill, Dunkin's are a traditional style. Krispy Kremes don't sell too well in this region. (maybe it's because of all of the jokes concerning the origins of the "kreme") -Coastin' Curt-
P.S. The slogan was actually "Time to make the donuts!"
Krispy Kreme, but only when you're driving by the store and the fresh hot doughnuts sign is lit.

I knew it went something like that. That was the sequal to the slogan.

Im a big Dunkin Donuts fan. There are neither of them close enough to get them regularly, but I've eaten both, and whenever I go up to St. Louis I pick up a couple of custard-filled long johns. MMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy.

Krispy Kreme's are way better than Dunkin Donuts, but the best donuts are made in my hometown of New Castle, PA at May's Donuts.

I prefer the Dunkin Donuts over the Krusty Kreme. On a side note, why didn't you include the Reid's favorite Tim Horton's, I'm sure the canadians would like to be included in this pool also.

I agree. When they have the hot doughnuts, they are just plain awesome. But, seeing as how I am from Connecticut and the stores up here havent began devlopment yet, I will still say Krispy Kreme based on the dozen hot I got when I went to Florida. Simply the best doughnut ever.

We have a Dunkin' Donuts by us that makes their donuts fresh 4 times a day. Our only access to Krispy Kreme is at the Acme (supermarket). They are often stale.
When they are fresh, Krispy Kreme are the better of the two, but NO ONE makes my favorite yeast raised glazed donuts like a local bakery. Both Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts glazed donuts are crap.

I live Gainesville, FL and KK rules here in Florida as in most of the Deep South. My true yankee heritage comes out when I "tawk" to someone about how I hate grits, boiled peanuts, pork rinds, and KK donuts. But I've lived in FL half my life (17 of 34 years), love SEC football and Gator sports, esp. hoops! Just can't eat KK!

KK when the hot sign is on . I had some this A.M. Has anyone noticed how KK's stock has gone through the roof since their IPO just a few months ago . They are in the middle of a rapid expandtion and earnings are way up too.
Based on this simple, yet basic (and mostly unscientific) poll, I guess we now know why KK's stock has shot up so fast...ROFL!

Dunkin's good, but give me KK any day! Nothing beats a freshly glazed doughnut dripping hot at Krispy Kreme. Deliciuos.
KK All The WAY!!!

They are serving Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwiches at many fairs this summer.

We had Krispy Kreme here in central NC long before anyone else ever did because they were ivented here and it took about 60 years before the rest of the country even got to know what they are.
So I guess I have a hometown bias when I say Krispy Kreme is WAY better.

Got to go with KK! We have had them here in Nashville for as long as I can remember.

Just the opposite here (in MA).
KK has opened stores to much fanfare and within a year or so they are gone, gone, gone.
After all, Dunkin' IS a MA company.
But it wasn't so much the donuts, it was the coffee!
Or so I have heard.
Personally, I always thought the KK offerings were overrated, especially in the price to quantity ratio (smaller donuts).
I don't eat donuts. And I don't drink coffee (much).
So why did I respond here, anyway?

Definitely Dunkin Donuts..I like the.."thicker" kind, krispy kreme seems mostly made of air and glaze

I believe it was: "Time to MAKE the donuts" as the sleepy-headed guy meandered towards the camera.
And Dunkin' Donuts wins by 1,000 donut holes in my opinion. Egads I can't stand Krispy Kremes as every donut tastes exactly like the one before --- no matter how 'different' they appear.
~MommaBeast

The only Krispy Kremes I tried, I found boxed at a Target near a park a couple of years ago...so they were not exactly fresh from the oven ..they were the mini white powdered ones, they were stale and lousy.
Until I can have a "real" KK..strange to use those initials when NOT referring to a large green lawn ornament in Jackson...it's DD all the way for me..I love the cinnamon coated and apple spice varieties the most.
I've gotta start looking at this board more often, now I've found it.
Mike

Dunkin Donuts, I grew up on it and well it is more plentiful than Krispy Kreme as far as locations. Besides Dunkin Donuts' doughnuts are great.

Dunkn Donuts is good for two things....
Coffee and Muffins!
Their donuts suck ass big time!!! They're so dry and chewy!
Krispy Kreme OTOH OWNS DD! Their HOT GLAZED donuts melt in your mouth! They are the BEST! And they're good for making bread pudding too!
