"Weird" Al Yankovic
So who's a fan of the great parody artist? And Which Albums you got and what is you favourite track he has done?
Albums I have are
Running with Scissors
Bad Hair Day
Food Album
Off The Deep End
& The Al in The Box Collection
I have lots of favourite tracks but for me the one that stands out is Saga Begins as it takes the mickey out of Star Wars Episode 1
Pete

The albums I have of the parody master are: Weird al Yankovic, In 3D, Running with scissors, and Off the deep end. My favorite track is "Another one rides the
bus" to the tune of "Another one bites the dust".
Well I think I'm missing a contact lens
I think my wallet's gone
And now this bus is going to stop again
To let a couple more freaks get on
Look out
ANOTHER ONE RIDES THE BUS
Also being a fan of The Don Mcleod tune "American Pie" I loved the Episode I parody also!

Weird Al rules. Every CD he's put out I have loved. Every parody he's put out has been hilarious, the man's a pure genius,

I know, some people hate the guy & think he's retarded....anything but! The man is obviously very smart & yes, what he does is stupid. It's meant to be.
My all time favorite has to be Amish Paradise. God, when I first saw that video, I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself. His parodies of Madonna's Like a Virgin & his take off on the Crash Test Dummies were great too. In my opinion, the best track he ever did is one called "One More Minute" The parody 50's style love gone bad song is a classic.

Im a big fan and I have a few albums, but have "borrowed" most of the rest of them from my friend.

Weird Al is one of my favorite artists, too! I got a kick out of "Jerry Springer" as well as "Bohemian Polka"!
In addition, I saw Weird Al in concert last year at Kings Island! Excellent show, especially when he did "The Saga Begins" at the end.
One question: did Weird Al do a song called "Barney's on Fire" or was it someone else unnamed who sounds like him?
Did he make a cameo appearance in Naked Gun or Airplane???..I can't remember..He got a top ten hit in UK with "Eat it!"..(skit of Michael Jackson's Beat it)
Though I've never bought anything by "Weird" Al, I do really like his parodies and videos.
Amish Paradise is my favorite. I laughed by A$$ off when I saw that video for the first time.
His music is fun!
Joe

It was Naked Gun. He was getting off an airplane in the movie, though. Also, there are a lot of dumb thoughtless parodies like Barney's On Fire and Oops I Farted Again and crap like that that say they are by Weird Al. I've been to two of his concerts. He's hilarious. I used to be really into him and never listened to real versions of any songs.

I own quite a few of his CDs. My favorite songs are "Amish Paradise", "Couch Potato", "e-Bay", and "Genius in France".

Hey, Ethan!..don't know if you'll see this..but I was just fooling around on the site and I never saw this "off-topic" board before!...I remember your responding to a post I put up last year about Weird Al...at that time I had only seen him 8 times...now it's 9!...he actually appeared in all three NAKED GUN movies.
It doesn't look like this "off-topic" forum is used much...
Mike

Really? I noticed it a long time ago, but I rarely use it. On other sites and forums, off-topics can be the hottest part of the forum, but it seems here people are out for a specific purpose, leaving this place like a ghost town. the most posts I've taken part in are arguing football with a Steeler's fan (I just watched the Browns beat the Bears for a 3-1 preseason).

Ahhh, but how many of you can say he 'hugged' your thigh as he performed at a local nightclub here in Indy, lol???
Yup...that happened to me. Lights went dim, he left the stage, I was standing on my stool to see him, and the next thing I know, he is wrapped around my thigh singing one of his parodies...hmmm...which song was it? It's buggin' me now!

I think I answered this last year on the regular board, so if it's redundant, my sincere apologies..but the song was probably "One More Minute."..that usually involved interaction with the audience...When I saw him in Atlantic City this past May..for the 9th time...that wasn't part of the set list, to my great disappointment...it's one of my faves.
Thigh hugging? All I ever got from him was a handshake and an autograph on a dollar bill!
I've been listening to Al since the early 80's..he and Springsteen are the only artists I automatically buy new material from.
Mike

I have every non-anthology LP/CD/Cassette he ever put out, and have seen him live 9 times...My favorite track? Why, "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung," what else?
Mike
