An Odd Thought About Lightwater and Toad Hole
I've heard Lightwater Valley are removing Toad Hole splash ride. Now this is just pure speculation, but could they be replacing it with a small (in height) Mack SuperSplash?
Plopsaland have just built a 78ft SuperSplash. The boat glides underneath the drop, then goes up a vertical lift and comes down the drop. Surely this is not too much for the park that built the world's longest coaster?
Anyway, just a thought.

Ironically enough I was looking at the said attraction but a few hours ago!!..Family and I paid a flying visit to LV on the way back from Scotland and NE Coast family holidays..
Toad Hole had a sign next to it saying "Sorry..Ride Closed due to essential maintenance"
Looked a bit sorry for itself to be honest..

The Toad Hole, Lightwater Valley, has now been closed for a couple of weeks as it was derailing, and doesn't look set to open again anytime soon. This might mean it to be removed at the end of the season.

Very sad news for Lightwater Valley, personally it was the quite frankly odd and unique rides like Toad Hole that make the park special and are stronger than their recent off the back of a lorry ride additions

Sadly it's all a bit rotten, the tracks and structure is really rusty. The car/boat/skip you used to sit in isn't there so must have been removed when the ride closed.
There's a wooden board in the station with loads of messages from the staff, lots of them are funny little rhymes.
Could post a video/pics if people wanted it.

Hey sneakycoasters thanks for sharing inside Toad Hole, please do share more photos and video if you have it.
I can't believe how well/in tact it looks to say how long the ride has been decommissioned.
I really feel the heart of LWV was in its quirky home built adventure rides that weren't like any other amusement park.
In my dreams, when I've won the lottery (ha!) I'd love LWV to be a very Yorkshire version of Tripsdrill with a "Trouble At T' Mill" log flume and Yorkshire pudding themed teacups / drunken barrels. Definitely attractions that take you on a real adventure like the Knight's Tower at Fantasiana in Austria

So just need to rebuild the bottom of the drop and attach a new skip ..boat to the rope and its good to go! haha

Wow. I'd wondered how much of it was left. The last time I went the ferris wheel was still there. And I was sure by looking at it that there was plenty of it left. I would still be happy if you could post even more, preferably a bit higher resolution as 800x600 is remarkably small on my screen. You mentioned a video?
