Parc Asterix 2001

Screamscape mentions that next year, Parc Asterix may get the World's largest Mack Bobsled. Are these as good as the Intamin ones, or are they small, single-rider devices?

If it is like Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Avalanche, it will be brilliant!

When I visited in April some of the ffoters were in a pretty large helix formation so i think it wii be big.

And the one at blackpool is A Mack bobsled not Intamin.

Thanks Pete.

Blackpool's is a Mack? In that case, Parc Asterix may well be about to become the best park in Europe. Two great coasters which have no risk of headbanging!

I must get there next year. Whoo-hoo!

Parc Asterix is a great park and i agree it should be better with a bobsled ride all i think they need to do is level Gouderix and replaced it with either a B&M Invert or a Vekoma SLC ( remember over the lake) so that should make it more interesting. But IMO Phantasialand is the best park in Europe Basically cause the themeing , the choice of rides and Mystery Castle. Europa Park as my number 2 Non UK Park.

I was very dissapointed, when I heard that the new bobsled won't be a record-breaker. The longest bobsled coaster is and will be for the next years the one at Heide-Park, although the one at Asterix will be higher.
But you will be more dissapointed, when I tell you that the park wanted at first a B&M Floorless instead. Yes, that is really sad.
To the park managers (look below):
Replace Goudurix with a Flying Coaster. Please more theming and a dark ride.
Greetings
Jakob

Mack, like Blackpool's Avalanche, are better than Intamin's which have break runs all the way down! I've done a couple of those - La Viborra at Six Flags over Texas, and Disaster Transport at Cedar Point. Blackpool's is MUCH better!

Were B&M too busy to build a floorless there?
