Thorpes New Coaster

It seems to be confirmed:
A sit-down coaster, built by Intamin with 10 (!!) inversions. But it will open 2002, not next year (SCREAMSCAPE). My guess for the inversions:
2 vertical loops, cobra roll, three corcscrews, three heartline rolls.
What do you think?
Greetings

If it's true then great - but I'm sure Thorpe is getting something for next year too.

Screamscape is great in terms of linking you to construction pics etc, but it seems to feature every rumour, not just the reliable ones.

But, if indeed this coaster does have ten inversions, here's my guess: vertical loops (3), corkscrews (2), cobra roll (2 inversions), batwing (2 inversions)
and a zero G roll (1).

I've never been to Thorpe Park, but any multi-inversion coaster will get me there (not a stand-up though).

Graeme.

I think Monte Makaya In Brazil is built by Intamin and it features 3 inline twists in a row. The rollingstock is identical to Lethal Weapon, at Warners. Those cars are not too comfy and you have some headbanging. But mayby they improved. 10 inversions, wow

Ahh, three in a row. In that case, yes, I expect Thorpe's coaster will do something similar.

Monte Makaya features a vertical, an Intamin Cobra Roll (In)version, 3 heartline twists and two consecutive corkscrews.
I read on Screamscape that the brazilan park is about to close due to bankrupcy. I must say that Brazil is a country i really want to go to, but for once not to go to a theme park:)

Hi There

When I visited WBMW in April I found that the seating on Leathal Weapon quiet comfy with bo headbang at all and was a very smooth ride. The only bit of the ride which people may find uncomfortable is the Zero-g or barrel roll as there is lots of hangtime going through that element in which I think has made part of the ride as I enjoyed the hangtime.

I've replied to myself because I'm not aiming this at anybody, but I think I remember a while ago Andy Hine saying it will NOT have ten inversions. I really hope he was wrong or I'm remembering it wrong.

I'm very sceptical myself but one of my friends has seen the plans and says it is true. He also says the Alton woodie does not look good, which is not such good news.

It would certainly be one in the eye for the Americans!

As for the Alton woodie, have they gone mad, not booking CCI? Perhaps it looks rubbish, but will ride well.

Perhaps CCI was busy - but as it's Intamin, it's possible they've signed a multi-coaster deal.
