Whirlwind was removed after the 2004 season.
Whirlwind is unique and best known its split corkscrew inversions. Designed by Netherlands based Vekoma International, Whirlwind was originally built at Playland Park (Rye, NY), where it operated from 1984 to 1992. After eight years of service Whirlwind was purchased by Knoebels and relocated in 1993. Whirlwind is the only adult-sized steel roller coaster at Knoebels.
