Sadly this legendary Arrow multielement steel coaster reached the end of its serviceable life after thrilling more than 46 million riders. Vortex was a classic Arrow multielement looper that debuted in 1987, It was notable at the time for being the tallest roller coaster in the world and the first to feature six inversions. In its later years, it unfortunately had a gained reputation for delivering a rough ride. On September 27, 2019 Kings Island announced that the iconic roller coaster would be retired at the end of the 2019 season. Vortex gave its final rides to park guests on October 27, 2019.
