This is a 3,100 foot long custom Arrow steel looping coaster with a 75-foot drop and five inversions. When Viper debuted at Darien Lake in May 1982 it was the first coaster in the world with five inversions, succeeding the Carolina Cyclone at Carowinds. It held this record for five years until Kings Island's Vortex took the title.
