Thunder Eagle closed in 2001 after the owners of Race World filed for bankruptcy. This roller coaster operated for only one year and then stood at the park until June 2003, when it was taken apart and relocated to Mont Saint Sauveur in Canada. It is presently in storage at that park while they try to obtain the permits to rebuild it.

Thunder Eagle is an updated version of a classic double out and back wooden coaster design.
