The park's first looping and significant roller coaster built after changing its name from Storytown USA to The Great Escape. Steamin' Demon is one of the world's first looping corkscrew coasters that spent its early years operating at New Orleans' Pontchartrain Beach. This extended version of the Arrow Corkscrew coaster adds a "vertical loop" to the double out and back layout, immediately following the first drop and just before curve turn into the double corkscrew.
