Space Invader 2 is no longer in operation at Pleasure Beach Blackpool. The ride closed on September 8, 2008 after an evacuation and was put up for sale. The building that enclosed this roller coaster was converted into the Pleasure Beach History Museum.

Space Invader was an enclosed, sit down bobsled coaster. Individual cars, seating three passengers inline, descend a 59-foot drop in total darkness. The roller coaster includes multiple drops, banked turns and a helix.

Space Invader 2 Facts & History

2003 – Refurbished by KumbaK Coasters. Individual cars were modified to include a lap bar style restraint. Space Invader renamed Space Invader 2.

September 8, 2008 – After an evacuation this roller coaster was closed for health & safety reasons and will not reopen.

2008-2010 – Standing-but-not-operating (SBNO)

2011 – Relocated to Brean Theme Park (Brean, Somerset, England) and renamed Astro Storm.

Individual car has three rows each, seating one inline per row.
