Like Holiday World, Kings Island will also be debuting North America's first family Boomerang coaster, but without the gravy. Instead, Snoopy, America's favorite beagle from the Peanuts gang, will be presiding over a soap box derby race. This track layout for this family roller coaster is not a complete circuit, and therefore, the 10-car train must travel both forward and backward. Snoopy's Soap Box Racers begins with a backward ascent up a 7-story lift. Reaching the peak, the train descends forward, accelerating to 37 miles per hour to race along the 673-foot-long track that ends with a dead-end spike hill. Ascending the dead end, the racers are left with few options but to reverse course and head back going backward. There are no inversions on this roller coaster, thus making it perfect for families, first-time coaster riders, and those who are just flat-out scared of the big rides.
