Wurstelprater is the amusement park at the Wiener Prater park in the second district of Vienna, Leopoldstadt. One of the oldest amusement parks in the world, the Wiener Prater started operating in 1766. Wurstelprater features a variety of amusement rides and roller coasters owned and operated by different showmen. The landmark attraction at Wiener Prater is the Risenrad, which translated means giant wheel. This 200-foot tall Ferris wheel is one of Vienna's most popular tourist attractions. Built in 1897, the Risenrad is one of the earliest Ferris Wheels and was erected to celebrate Emperor Franz Josef I's golden Jubilee. Admission to Wiener Prater is free. Rides are on a pay-as-you-go basis.
