Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is the only major seaside amusement park on the Pacific Coast and is located on a mile-long beach bordering Monterey Bay. This nearly century old park is a true West Coast treasure, as California's oldest amusement park, plus a State Historic Landmark. The park features two named National Historic Landmarks: a classic 1911 Looff carousel and the popular Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster, built in 1924. In all, the Boardwalk features 34 rides, games of skill, arcades, restaurants, shops and entertainment for the entire family. Admission to the Boardwalk is free. Individual ride tickets or an all-day pass must be purchased for the rides.
