Rainbow Valley closed forever at the end of the 2005 season. Its final day of operation was Labor Day, September 5. In April 2005, Parks Canada announced that it had purchased the 15.8 hectare park for $2.5 million. More than 2.5 million people visited Rainbow Valley over the more than 30 years the park operated.
