Located in Vacaville, halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento, Nut Tree was a California landmark for over seven decades. The park dates back to a fruit stand in 1921. In October 2006, the 80-acre park returned with some of its original attractions like the Nut Tree Railroad that transports guests through a botanical garden. The Family Ride Park for children features the historic Nut Tree hobbyhorse rocking beside newer rides like a junior roller coaster and bumper cars.
In 2008 many of the amusement park rides closed for redevelopment of a retail area. Nut Tree Plaza remains with a carousel, miniature train, and playground for children.
