Hillcrest Park closed on September 1, 2003 after a decline in corportate picnics and increase in the value of the land. The park operated as private picnic park since its opening in 1952. After the closure the rides, roller coaster and park equipment were auctioned off and the land was sold to a developer. The Little Dipper roller coaster was purchase by Little-A-Merrick-A in Marshall, Wisconsin. The coaster is being relocated and will reopen at Little-A-Merrick-A in 2005.
