The first Disney theme park in Mainland China opened to huge crowds at the Shanghai Disney Resort on June 16, 2016. Shanghai Disneyland is the fifth Disneyland Park based on Walt Disney's original park in Anaheim, California. Built in a similar fashion to the original, but with distinct differences to appeal to Chinese visitors' preferences, Shanghai Disneyland has replaced the central hub with an elaborate garden. Seven themed lands offer guests more than 30 rides and attractions, including three roller coasters.
