Move over Shamu, the new star coming soon to SeaWorld Orlando is Kraken, a terrifying sea serpent that will use the latest high-tech, state-of-the-art technology, to thrill Orlando parkgoers. The opening of the parks first roller coaster will continue SeaWorld Adventure Parks's transition into thrill ride park as well as an ongoing animal park.
Themed after an ancient myth; The Kraken was a massive, mythological underwater beast kept caged by Poseidon. But this spring the folks at SeaWorld will uncage the beast and once unleashed he is sure to make a big splash. But beware he's very, very angry.
A good portion of Kraken will be built over water, making it a fitting home for a Sea Serpent. But during the adventure the coaster will also plunge down three times, into the underground serpent's lair. On one occasion the train will plunge underground at full speed, creating a huge plume of spray to drench nearby bystanders.
What really sets Kraken apart is the three colorful trains that are custom designed without floors or sides. Yes...there are no floors, nor sides. So let your feet dangle free and don't worry about keeping your hands and arms inside the cars, because there is no inside on this train.
Seated four abreast in eight rows, 32 brave souls will climb 151-feet above the Serpent's lagoon.
Uncaged and ready to jam, this angry beast will leash out sending the trains down a 14-story drop, to reach a maximum speed of 65 mph, before screaming through seven hair-raising inversions and three underground tunnels! If you've got chills running down your back your not alone.
In fact, Kraken is so massive that SeaWorld will proudly claim the title for having the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in the state of Florida.
Designed by well-known coaster designers Bolliger and Mabillard of Switzerland. Kraken will use some of the latest coaster technology and design techniques to offer the finest thrills a roller coaster can deliver.
So come this spring when the serpent is unleashed, journey down to Orlando to and meet your fate on this latest high-tech terrifying beast.
