Stengel Engineering designed and Anton Schwarzkopf built this popular Shuttle Loop roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm. Montezooma's Revenge uses a fly-wheel to catapult the seven car train out of the station to reach a top speed of 55 miles-per-hour in just 4.5 seconds. The train then travels through a 76-foot, 360-degree vertical loop before it ascends a 148-foot tall spike, where it momentarily comes to a stop. Reversing directions the train falls back down the spike, repeats the loop and passes through the station to climb a 112-foot tall spike on the opposite end. Reversing directions, once again, the train descends the rear spike and travels forwards back to the station.
