Designed to be reminiscent of the Zephyr at Pontchartrain Beach Amusement Park, MegaZeph is a modern "spin" on its predecessor with its hills scaled up to please the thrill-seeker of today. This "double out & back" wooden roller coaster features an intense high-banked turn around which skims over the surface of Six Flags New Orlean's own Jazz Lake. In the tradition of any zephyr, MegaZeph closes with a thrilling gust through a helix before rumbling back into the station. The steel structure of the MegaZeph roller coaster has the strength to support itself better over the area's swampy ground as well as keep the wooden track out of the reach of hungry termites.
