On October 27, 2005 Beech Bend Park announced the winning name Kentucky Rumbler for the park's first wooden roller coaster. Designed and built by Great Coasters International, Kentucky Rumbler is 2,827 feet long and has a maximum elevation difference of 96 feet. This roller coaster features a record, 30 crossovers and 12 moments where riders will feel weightless. Kentucky Rumbler's 24-passenger Millnnium Flyer train modeled after the classic coasters of the 20's and 30's travels at speeds of up to 70 feet per second. Kentucky Rumbler is also the only wooden roller coaster in the world to feature three exciting station fly-bys, built right into the station walls.
