Indiana Beach's Hoosier Hurricane is a traditional "out and back" wooden coaster built along the shore of Lake Shafer and the park's boardwalk. Designed by Dennis McNulty and Larry Bill of Custom Coasters, the Hoosier Hurricane is the park's largest roller coaster and the first modern wooden coaster built with a steel support structure.
